Master Translation Service (MTS / “Master Translations”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you visit https://www.xmmaster.com (and related sites such as https://www.mts.cn), contact us, or use our translation, interpreting, localization, and related services.
By using our website or submitting information to us, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not provide personal information or use the relevant services. Website rules of use are set out in our Terms of Use.

It does not cover third-party websites linked from our site; those sites have their own policies.

- Inquiry / order details: language pairs, subject matter, deadlines, budget notes, delivery preferences
- Project materials: source files, glossaries, reference documents, style guides, and related content (which may include personal data of your employees, customers, or other individuals)
- Contract and billing information: contracts, invoices, payment and tax-related details as needed to perform the engagement
- Career applications: résumé/CV, education and work history, and other information you voluntarily submit
3.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we or our hosting environment may automatically collect limited technical data, such as:
- IP address, browser type, device/OS information
- Pages viewed, referral URL, access time and approximate location derived from IP
We do not sell personal information.

- Translators and relevant staff are bound by confidentiality / privacy obligations; unauthorized disclosure of client scripts or project materials is prohibited
- Access to project files is limited to personnel who need them to perform the work
- Unless you instruct otherwise, we treat your source and target materials as confidential
- If you have heightened confidentiality requirements (restricted distribution, named translators only, secure transfer methods, etc.), please tell us in advance so we can arrange appropriate controls; a separate non-disclosure agreement (NDA) may be signed upon request
Where materials you provide contain personal information of third parties, you represent that you have a lawful basis to disclose that information to us for the stated purpose.
7. How we share information
We may share information only as needed for the purposes above, including with:
- Internal teams (project managers, linguists, DTP, quality, finance)
- Qualified freelance linguists or subcontractors under confidentiality obligations, when required to fulfill your project
- Service providers who support hosting, email, storage, or IT security, subject to appropriate safeguards
- Professional advisers (e.g. legal counsel) where necessary
- Authorities when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing.
8. Cross-border transfer
MTS is based in China and primarily processes information in China. If a project requires involving linguists or partners outside China, or if you or your recipients are located abroad, information may be transferred across borders as necessary to perform the service. We take reasonable contractual and organizational measures consistent with applicable law (including China’s personal information protection requirements where they apply).
9. Storage location and retention
Except where cross-border performance or law requires otherwise, personal information we collect is generally stored in the People’s Republic of China.
We retain personal information and project materials only for as long as needed to:
- Complete and support the services you requested
- Meet contractual, accounting, tax, or legal retention obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
When retention is no longer necessary, we delete, anonymize, or securely destroy the data in accordance with our internal procedures, unless a longer period is required by law or agreed with you in writing.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including access control, staff confidentiality obligations, and secure handling of project files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if you require specific security measures, please discuss them before sending sensitive materials.

Subject to applicable law (including, where applicable, China’s Personal Information Protection Law), you may have the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion or restriction of processing in certain circumstances
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (without affecting prior lawful processing)

If you are an individual whose data appears only inside a client’s translation project, please contact that client first; we will cooperate with the client as the data controller where appropriate.
12. Children
Our services and website are directed to businesses and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to external sites (for example news or partner pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies before providing personal information.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when changes are posted. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website or communicated by other appropriate means.
